This is a fantastic little museum with more exhibits crammed in it's tiny space than most larger museums. It's a fantastic resource in the quad cities with actual on the ground research being done by students and professors. Most museums put the viewer behind ropes that keep you far away from the exhibits, but not this one. You are as close as possible to the exhibits. The florescence exhibit was very interesting, showing how different wavelengths of light affect minerals.

The Fryxell Museum was a lot of fun today. I enjoyed looking at the rows of minerals and my kids really enjoyed the dinosaur skeletons. It is a small museum, but we spent more than an hour. There are not a lot of interactive exhibits so parents of young kids may have a hard time getting their kids to adhere to the "do not touch" signs.
